Anders Breivik- A Wolf in the “Wolf Age”

Wolves were feared by our ancestors because wolves were one of the predators of northern Europe, who would hunt men as prey.   Odin had two wolves, Geri (Ravenous) and Freki (Greedy), who hungered for the flesh that Odin, as a dark god of death; required for the necessary cycle of death and regeneration.    Odin’s cult was followed by a small group of Germanic nobles, whose primary occupation was war.   They were death bringers and life takers.     Germanic warriors formed some war bands around the cult of the wolf.   This short essay is about a man who this writer considers to a lone wolf in the current “wolf age;” and about the culture that created this modern wolf.  There are other wolves that have been created and there will be more, now all unknown to us.

Norwegian Anders Behring Breivik, was born on 13 February 1979, and is currently serving a twenty one year prison sentence at Telemark Prison’s affiliate in Skien for the 22 July 2011 terrorist attacks at Utoya and Oslo killing a total of 77 people.   Terrorist attacks are nothing new, but this incident was unique.  As the powers that be, (those who must not be named), are implementing the Pan-Europa Coudenhove-Kalergi plan (refer to the article “Casablanca- “The Usual Suspects”), they expect a certain amount of violence as they forcibly integrate disparate cultures.  But they probably did not expect an attack on the midlevel protected class.  Violence is supposed to be confined to the unprotected class to help bring about submission from those targeted for replacement.

Western civilization must die before those who cannot be named can become the new aristocracy.   The virus to bring about this death is Islam.   Multiculturalism, feminism and cultural Marxism are used weaken the host country’s resistance to give Islam time to incubate.   When Islam is first injected into the host culture, it will present itself as the “Religion of Peace” of a powerless people displaced by wars of Western Imperialism.   This will continue as long as they remain 2% or less in the host population.   Once Islam consists of approximately 5% of the host’s population, it will use the environment provided by the cultural Marxists to claim aggrieved status.   They will begin pushing for sharia law.

When the Islamic population reaches approximately 10% of the host population, they become increasing lawless. One can expect tactics such as the car burnings in Paris.   The host population will constantly be under tension in areas where Moslems are wresting control from the host.   When the Moslem population reaches approximately 20% of the host population, there is a steep increase in violence toward the host culture.   Churches and synagogues in Moslem controlled areas will be burned and the host population is directly targeted.   By that point violence pushes members of the host population out of their former community, therefore increasing the influence of Moslems in that community.    Violence will cause those who remain in the community to modify their behavior to Moslem demands, to avoid being targeted.   Eventually those who remain in the community will have to convert.    Conversion will be easier when the host population in all actuality has no religion to being with; because they are cultural or social Christians.

Part of the role of the social Marxist is to push the concept, through multiple strategies, that the host population should not resist; because they do not deserve to survive as a unique people.    Even more so, the unprotected class should desire its own destruction.   Through various forms of controlled media, the unprotected class is being programmed to commit suicide as a people.  By the standards of the United Nations it is an agenda of genocide.

Breivik identified, rightly or wrongly, the Norwegian Labor Party as being an agent for promoting the cultural destruction of Norway by promotion of the virus of Islam.   On 22 July 2011 Anders Breivik attacked a Worker’s Youth League conclave for thirteen to twenty five year olds in Utoya killing sixty nine.   Breivik was also responsible for a car bomb in Oslo that killed eight more people at a government building run by the Labor Party.   It appears to this writer that Breivik believed that he was killing the next generation of leaders that was being groomed by the Labor Party to betray Norway to the genocide of its culture.

Emotionally it is easier to accept this tragic event as the illogical actions of a mad man.   That is certainly how it was betrayed in the controlled media and by the government of Norway.   It appears the government initially wanted to send Breivik to a mental institution, but they reversed themselves.   They may have feared he might be released at some point or that people might gain access to interview Breivik, this writer does not know.     It is certain they will tightly control access to Breivik to ensure he has no voice at this important juncture.   By the time Breivik serves his twenty one years, it will no longer be an issue.  The Norway we know today will probably be gone, if things continue without disruption.

Do not assume that this writer is glorifying the actions of Breivik, quite to the contrary.   As an asatruar, this writer believes that the killing of women and children is dishonorable and heinous.   There is no valor in such tactics.   Such actions are the tactics of those we are resisting and it should be stated as such.    However, what took place at Utoya and Oslo is not the disjointed actions of a madman.   At times Breivik has described himself as an Odinist, while at other times he has described himself as a cultural Christian.  It is obvious from his choice of targets and his comments that he is neither, although his comments on the state of western culture are germane.

Breivik has reportedly described himself was a warrior in a low intensity civil war, where he attacked those who were planning the cultural and ethnic genocide of Norway.   Breivik has declared that Pope Benedict XVI is corrupt, cowardly, incompetent, Pope who has abandoned Christianity and Europe.   Breivik’s views of the state of the western world are described by the government as “conspiracy theory” nonsense in an over reaction to the government helping displaced refugees.    In this writer’s opinion, even the simplest person knows that something just isn’t right.   Many in the unprotected class do not know what is going on; because they are buying into the narrative they are being fed (by those who cannot be named).    They cannot see what is obviously right in front of their faces and are even eagerly awaiting their own destruction because they are unworthy of continuation.    Sorcery is in full force during the wolf age.   Clear your mind, tribe up and be ready to make it on your own.  London has fallen, who will be the next to fall?

Word Fame- Iain Gunn of Gunn, Chief of the Clan Gunn- The Viking Clan

The word clan comes from the Scottish Gaelic word Clann, which essentially means offshoot.   Therefore a clan is made up of individuals who have a direct or perceived kinship to a common ancestor.    However, one might marry into or be adopted into a clan.    There were several Scottish highland clans and Scottish lowland families that were descended from Scandinavian settlers, who were usually called “Danes” regardless of their actual origin.   Highland clans such as Gunn, McDonald of the Isles, MacLeod, MacQueen and MacAuley claim Norse descent.

The northern most Scottish clan, Clan Gunn, has traditionally, if not mythically,  claimed descent from Sweyn Asleifsson, the ultimate Viking of the Orkneyinga Saga.   Sweyn Asleifsson was born approximately in 1116 and was killed in 1171 while fighting in Dublin Ireland.   Sweyn’s grandson was Gunni.   Gunni’s wife was Ragnhild, whose grandfather was St. Rognvald, Jarl of Orkney.    In 1198 on the death of Ragnhild’s brother, Harold Ungi Jarl of Orkney and Caithness, Ragnhild inherited most of Orkney and Caithness.  Ragnhild and Sweyn passed their holdings on to their son, Snaekoll.   The folk that were to become Clan Gunn were at the height of their power in the thirteenth century, a time of which little is known about the Gunn’s history.

It appears that Scottish kings, in an effort to increase their power on the northern edge of Scotland, began to give land grants in northern Scotland, to loyal nobles, depriving the Gunn’s of their good farmland.   In 1586 the Sinclair Earl of Caithness and the Gordon Earl of Sutherland formed an alliance against the Gunns.  In the middle of the fifteenth century George Gunn of Ulbster, also known as the crowner (Am Braisdeach Mor), was the first truly  “Scottish” Clan Gunn chief.    George Gunn and four of his sons were killed in battle against Clan Keith.   George Gunn’s three surviving sons would be the genesis of the three branches of the clan (the galley on the Gunn arms has three masts, the supporters are a Viking Warrior and a Pic Woman).

James (Sheumus) took lands in Kildonan, Robert took lands in Braemore and John took land in Cattaig.   James’ son would be known as the MacSheumas Chataich and would be the progenitor of the MacKeamish

Gunns.    The Gunns were involved in many battles with neighboring clans, through the years and over time they did not fare well.   During the 1745 Jacobite rebellion, Clan Gunn was led by the MacKeamish with approximately 120 men, on the Hanoverian side of the conflict.   The Gunns were attached to the Earl of Loudon’s regiment, but as a unit they were not present at the battle of Culloden.  After the defeat of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s forces at Culloden, laws were passed to incorporate the Scottish Highlands into the rest of Great Britain.   Scottish clans were essentially made illegal.   In 1746 parliament passed laws banning Scottish Highland attire and bagpipes, except for those serving the in British military.

In 1780 the eighth MacKeamish, William Gunn, was killed while serving with the British army in India and the chieftainship passed to William’s brother, Morrison Gunn.   Morrison Gunn, the ninth MacKeamish, died without issue serving with the British army at Gibraltar.   Back in the highlands, the Countess of Sutherland determined that the Gunns, who resided on her lands needed a chief, who would assist her in clearing the clansmen from her lands to make room for sheep.  At that time the demand for wool in Great Britain made sheep on the land more profitable than tenant farmers.

In 1803, without the authority of the Lord Lyon, a sheriff’s court was held in Thurso and Hector Gunn was appointed chief of the Clan Gunn.   When Hector Gunn died,  his son George Gunn became the next chief; although unrecognized by competent authority.    The Countess of Sutherland took George Gunn as her protégé, gave him lands and secured him a military commission.   Former clansmen from all over the highlands were removed from their ancestral lands and transported to various locations in the British Empire; after being rounded up and their homes burned to ensure they would not return.  It was a tragedy similar to the “Trail of Tears” in the United States.

For a long time there was little interest in being  chief of a clan that in reality did not exist anymore.   Those people who had been betrayed by chiefs, whom they considered to be their kinsmen and leaders, had little interest in renewing the relationship either.   However, in time, old wounds slowly began to heal.   Sir Walter Scott’s novels and the Highland Society of London began to spark a romanticized interest in all things highland.   In 1822 King George IV appeared in Edinburgh wearing a kilt, signaling royal approval of the kilt.   Some British lords with highland estates, had kilts made for their male Scottish servants to wear while at work at the estate.   Visitors would see the lord being served by men in highland attire causing some in Scotland to view highland attire in a more negative light.

Scots serving in highland regiments in the British army take great pride in Scottish highland traditions and have quietly been a tremendous influence in promoting  a positive “highland” culture in Scotland and throughout the world.     In 1821, one year before King Edward VI arrived in Edinburgh, The Loyal and Benevolent Society of the Clan Gunn was formed for the relief of poor Gunns displaced by the clearances.

In 1960 the Clan Gunn Society was formed in the U.K. by William Gunn of Banniskirk with Iain Gunn for the purpose of locating a chief for the clan.    William Gunn was designated as Commander of the clan by the Lord Lyon in 1967 to lead the clan society, until a chief is found.  After William Gunn’s death in 1968, Iain Gunn of Banniskirk was designated Commander of the clan in 1972.   Commander Gunn has worked tirelessly promoting Gunn kinship in Scotland and throughout the world with Scottish diaspora for many years.

On 18 July 2015 a Derbhfine or family convention was held in Scotland with Clan Gunn’s armiger members with the purpose of selecting a chief.    After debate, Iain Gunn of Banniskirk was recommended to the Lord Lyon.   On 16 April 2016 in Merchants Hall in Edinburgh Scotland, Dr. Joseph Morrow Lord Lyon and King of Arms presented Iain Gunn of Gunn a Grant of Arms as Chief of Clan Gunn.   Over two hundred years after the death of the last recognized chief Morrison Gunn; Clan Gunn at last has a chief.   Clan Gunn could not have done better.   Iain Gunn of Gunn and his lady, Madam (Bunty) Gunn of Gunn are both much admired and loved by those who claim kinship to Clan Gunn, including this writer.

Let us charge our horns with good mead and give a hearty hail to Iain Gunn of Gunn- Chief of the Viking Clan- Clan Gunn.  Aut Pax Aut Bellum!

Word Fame- Stephen A. McNallen

site_logoOn 01 May 2016 the Asatru Folk Assembly Alsherjargothi Stephen McNallen made an announcement on Facebook, that he would be going into a well-earned semi-retirement to spend more time on his personal development.   Mr. McNallen’s contribution to American Heathenry since 1972 can not be over stated and his semi-retirement, for AFA members, will be bitter-sweet.   This writer will not attempt to list Mr. McNallen’s achievements, that would take an entire chapter of a book.   If Else Christensen is the folk móðir, then surely Stephen McNallen is the faðir of the trufolk movement in the United States and to him we are indebted.

But a noble name | will never die,
If good renown one gets.

It is the Deep Breath Before the Plunge

In Return of the King (Book V Chapter 1: Minas Tirth), author  J.R.R. Tolkien gives us a conversation between Pippin and Beregond, who is a man at arms of the Third Company of the Citadel.   The conversation takes place in Minas Tirth in Gondor on the eve of the battle on the Fields of Pelennor.   “When?” said Pippin.   “Have you a guess?    For I saw the beacons last night and the errand-riders; and Gandalf said it was a sign that war had begun.   He seemed in a desperate hurry, But now everything seems to have slowed down again.”   “Only because everything is now ready,” said Beregond.   “It is the deep breath before the plunge.”

I suppose that many of us who aware of what is going on in the current wolf age have had this very same conversation quietly in hushed tones with our friends.   It is not a question of ‘if’ but ‘when.’   In Casablanca- “The Usual Suspects” the writer gave a very brief explanation of the ‘who’ and the ‘why.’    To paraphrase Tolkien, this Shadow of Doom steals away the warmth of our blood.   But we should not be disheartened.   As this writer said previously, this wolf age provides us with an opportunity to prove ourselves worthy to be remembered.

After a spate of terrorist actions and social upheavals, things are somewhat quiet as the dark riders of the Shadow of Doom regroup before the next round.   We must take a deep breath and prepare, before we are thrust into the next series of events.  We must prepare mentally, spiritually and physically.   Many, if not most of us, will not survive the shadow that has come upon us.   That does not matter for death comes to us all.   What matters is that the best of our folk and culture survives, so it can thrive again.   We must help ourselves, because there is no one else to do it for us.   Besides, the gods will not do for us what we can do for ourselves.

In the last post, “Thurisaz- Rune for the Wolf Age”, this writer had briefly discussed runic energy in the wolf age.  Continuing with the same line of thinking this writer wants to revisit our heroine in a bit of fiction.   In this story our heroine, Sigdrifa/Brynhild/Europa, was pricked with a Sevefnthorn by the agents of Mordor and she has fallen into sleep.   Our heroine is guarded by those who falsely swore to protect her, and then betrayed her at the direction of Saruuman.   As our heroine Europa is the folk soul, her survival is everything.    To ensure her survival, rangers from the north have at great risk and loss, entered Arnor where Europa was held, and rescued Europa.

brynhild 2

Hotly pursued by Orcs, the rangers eventually make their way to Minas Tirth, where our heroine is placed in repose in the high keep.   The keep is surrounded on all sides by enchanted thorns, which will repel all but our prophesied hero, who will marry Europa and restore the Folk.    But before determining who the true hero is, the shadow of the Dark Lord is upon Pellenor Field.   Lord Denethor has succumb to the influence of the Dark Lord and calls for the surrender of the Folk sealing his own doom.    Confusion and fear are rampant.   The Folk despair.   Pipin asks Beregond the situation and Beregond replies, “It is the deep breath before the plunge.”

But all is not lost.   The children of the north, the sons and daughters of Odin have gathered on the wall to hear the prophecy of Malbeth the Seer (Chapter 2: The Passing of the Gray Company):

Over the land there lies a long shadow,

westward reaching wings of darkness.

The tower trembles; to the tombs of kings

doom approaches.   The Dead awaken;

for the hour is come for the oath breakers

at the stone of Erech they shall stand again

and hear there a horn in the hills ringing.

Whose shall the horn be?  who shall call them

From the prey twilight, the forgotten people?

Their heir of hem to who the oath they swore.

From the North shall he come, need shall drive him:

he shall pass the Door to the Paths of the Dead.

Hearing that a hero will come, the Folk gain heart and begin working to repel the usurpers, in contradiction to the orders of Denethor.   The Soldiers of Odin eagerly stand to.   Their spears clang mightily against their shields, their voices rise up in a crescendo, eager for battle and hope.   The ravens circle in the sky.   There is thunder as lightning races across the sky.   The Aesir and Vanir have gathered on the wall ready to enjoin the fray against the invader.    The daughters of Odin have taken the heart of Freya within themselves and now desire to be Europa waiting for the arrival of her hero.    Without fear they eagerly await their Orlog.

Thurisaz- A Rune for the Wolf Age

thornThis writer would like to briefly touch on the topic of Germanic runes in the Wolf Age.    Many new to Germanic heathenism often take a great interest in the study of runes and rightly so.   However, this writer suggests that in the beginning most of one’s time should be spent studying the primary source materials about Germanic culture such as the Eddas, sagas, and historical writers to obtain an overall understanding of the culture in which the runes were used.    The study of a Germanic language, other than English, is also encouraged.  This writer has included several links to suggested reading lists in the blog roll for those interested.

Runes are a paradox, on the surface they are easy to understand simply as letters for writing a language.     However, the energies that each of the letters represent are a mystery.    The word rune roughly translates as mystery.   Those mystical energies pre-date the gods and were not created by them.   Odin sacrificed himself upon the tree Yggdrassil, so that he could take up the mysteries, or the runes, into himself and rise out of the chaos into godhood.   This writer does not see Odin as a god of war, but as a god of death and transformation, which is required for the cycle to move forward.

This writer sees Tyr as the god of war and Thor as the protector of the gods.    There is no doubt that Thor was the most popular god among the common warriors and Odin was much less popular among them.   However, Odin did have a cult following among certain nobles.  Other warriors followed deities such as Freya or Frey.  There were regional differences in which gods were honored and how they were honored.  The folk’s relationship with the gods was not so much an individual thing, but more of a group relationship.   The folk did not envision themselves apart from their community; because to be removed from the protection of the law of the folk was to be an outlaw or accursed.    Some tribes or blood lines were favored by certain gods and goddesses, because the gods had sired their noble blood lines and took a special interest in their well being.   All of the folk can claim descent from the gods through the god Heimdallr, therefore the gods are our noble kinsmen.

Odin did not give the runes to men, that was done by the god Rig also known as Heimdallr.   However, men must follow Odin’s example to understand the powers represented by the runes.    It is also interesting to note that Heimdallr is associated by some with the world tree Yggdrassil.   Men were fashioned by the gods out of trees and Odin hung on the tree to find the mysteries near the root of the tree.    The runes are typically carved on wooden staves, not on small stones for rune casting.   This writer is unaware of any source material which would lead one to believe that runes were historically used for divination.   Although they can be and they are currently used for divination by some.

Magic aside or not, the primary use of runes for asatruar today is personal transformation or evolution.   Personal evolution during the Wolf Age is a good idea, so the study of the runes is encouraged by this writer.     The question for the beginner is where to start.    This writer suggests one to contact the Rune Gild to begin the process.   Or one could also contact Wodenson at NRR-Northern Runes Radio, who has an excellent series on runes.   This writer is certain that there are other good sources as well, but simply buying a book will not be enough.   Even buying several good books will not be enough.  To understand the runes one must begin an organized study under a competent teacher that will take several years just to master the basics.   As always, the teacher is more important than any organization that the teacher may be affiliated with.

All runes are facets of the primal or mother rune, which is Hagalaz.   This writer has been noticing, as events have been escalating in the western world, that certain runic energies are recurring or are prominent enough that this writer has taken notice of them in daily life.   This writer has noted a prominence of the runic energies of Fehu, Thurisaz, Tiwaz and Dagaz several times in the last several months.   In this short essay the writer will address Thurisaz/Þurisaz.

The three oldest Germanic runic alphabets are: the Elder Futhark, the Younger Futhark and the Anglo-Saxon Futharc.   Thurisaz holds the third position in all three of the above Futhark systems and is the third rune in the elder futhark in the first or Freyr’s Aett in the Elder Futhark.    Thurisaz or Þurisaz in Proto-Germanic means Thor or Giant.   Thurs/Þurs in Old Norse means Giant.   In the Anglo-Saxon Futharc the rune Thurisaz is called þorn which means thorn.    Some believe that thorn is a kenning or a metaphor for giant.   Giants are primal, wild, uncontrolled, powerful energies that are generally hostile to the order established by the gods and they are especially hostile to man.   Giants are not inherently evil; they are chaos opposed to order.   The gods themselves were once giants who elevated themselves out of chaos.    Loki is not evil in and of himself, but a necessary catalyst for change to take place allowing the cycle to move forward.

This writer has been planning on writing this article for at least one month.    During that time, the writer has noted that his Rune Gild sib, Kalki Weisthor, published an article on Thurisaz entitled Meditation on the Thorn Rune at his blog.   Wodenson at Northern Runes Radio, just did a podcast on the rune Thurisaz (and it was very good).    Mere coincidence?   Maybe, or are people picking up on something that is going on at a deeper level?

Descriptions of the runes included in the three alphabets are found in three historical poems, the Old English Rune Poem, the Old Norwegian Rune Rhyme, and the Icelandic Rune Poem.

Thurisaz is described in the Old English Rune Poem as follows:

serveimage7MVIPN3D(Ðorn- thorn) is very sharp; for every thegn

Who grasps it, it is harmful and exceedingly cruel

to every man who lies up on it.”

Thurisaz is described in the Old Norwegian Rune Rhyme as follows:

serveimage7MVIPN3D(Þurs- giant) causes the sickness of women;

Few are cheerful from misfortune.”

Thurisaz is described in the Icelandic Rune Poem as follows:

serveimage7MVIPN3D(Þurs- giant) is the torment of women and the dweller

in the rocks and husband of the etin-wife Varth-runa

Saturn. “ruler of the legal assembly.”

Thurisaz has been used in magical operations of offense and defense for centuries, and it appears to be a rune associated with life and death.    It is a sharp piercing energy associated with pain and blood loss.    But it appears to have other uses as well.   In the Lay of Sigdrifa we discover that Odin pricked the shield maiden Sigdrifa (Brynhild) with a thorn or sleep rune (Svefnthorn) causing her to fall into a deep sleep; until she was to be awakened by the hero Sigurd, who she is supposed to marry.   We find other references to the Svefnthorn in the Saga of the Volsungs, The Saga of King Kraki, and Gongu-Hrolf’s Saga.    There are hints of the Svefnthorn in the fairy tales of Sleeping Beauty and Snow White.

BrynhildIn our time during the wolf age, we find our heroine Sigdrifa/Brynhild/Europa had been placed into a deep sleep; but she has been partially awakened.    Our hero must slay the dragon Fafnir and prove himself worthy through his courage to wed the maiden.   As our heroine awakes she says:

” I counsel you eleventh; there lurks evil
Round each bend of the road:
A long life you must not look to have,
So great are the hatreds grown.

Our heroine warns the hero to always be on his guard against being bewitched (seduced through mind control), believing the words of his enemies (wolf’s kin) as truth, and avoiding  brother’s quarrels.   Our hero should only give his oath if he intents to fulfill it; and it would be better for him to perish on the battlefield than burned in his home.     Our hero must succeed in his quest; if he is to wed the maiden returning peace and prosperity to the land and the folk.    The thorn rune is in play; life, death, re-birth.

Casablanca- “The Usual Suspects”

This writer does not watch much television; it is an intellectual desert.   Professional sports are “bread and circus” to entertain the mob, while the true masters of this world are able to go about their work with less scrutiny.    Hollywood and television, including the corporate news, are in this writer’s opinion, simply agents of mind control and social manipulation.   When I do watch television it is usually one of those channels which play movies produced from the thirties through the fifties.    It was still manipulation, but men were men.  The villains wore black hats and the good guy wore a white hat.    The good guy always won in the end.  There were those strange concepts of courage, honor and self-reliance.   Murderers were always caught and punished.    There were standards of conduct, it was easy to tell right from wrong.   People thought there was something greater than themselves.

One type of movie “back in the day” that blurred the lines of good and evil was Noir.  Unlike the popular Horse Operas of the time; Noir was urbane, dark and gritty.   Noir films typically revolved around a leading man, who was edgy.   In this writer’s definition, edgy is someone on the dividing line between being a hero or being a villain; you did not know if the leading man was a good guy or not.   The greatest leading man of the Noir films was Humphrey Bogart and one of Bogart’s greatest films was Casablanca.

Casablanca was released around the time the Allies invaded north Africa during world war II.   Like many of the films of the time it was used to promote an acceptance of American foreign policy.   On the surface the film appears to be about a love triangle between Humphrey Bogart (Rick Blaine),  Ingrid Bergman (Ilsa Lund), and Paul Henreid (Victor Laszlo).    The setting is Casablanca in Morocco.   Rick Blaine is an American ex-pat who owns a bar in a city which is under the control of the Vichy French government.    The law is kept by the cynical and morally ambivalent French Captain Louis Renault played by Claude Rains.   Blaine is only out for himself and has previously worked running guns to Africa against United States policy therefore, he can not go home.  Rick Blaine is also jaded because his love interest, Ilsa Lund, had perviously left him when he lived in Paris.

Ilsaa Lund located Blaine in Casablanca.   Lund explained to Blaine that she left him because the husband that she thought was dead, when she was with Blaine, was actually alive.  Lund explained to Blaine that her husband Victor Laszlo is a Czechoslovakian freedom fighter, who is trying to escape to America.  Laszlo is being pursed by the Nazis and they need Blaine’s help.    Blaine had previously come into the possession of two official letters of transit through Nazi controlled territories, which could be used to escape.  Blaine and Lund reconcile.   Blaine helps Laszlo and Lund to escape the Nazis by plane.   During the process, Blaine commits himself to being on the right side.   German Major Heinrich Strasser tries to stop the plane carrying Lund and Laszlo.   Blaine shoots and kills Major Strasser in front of Captain Renault in self-defense.  When asked who to arrest for the murder of Major Strasser, Captain Renault replies, “Round up the usual suspects.”   The film ends with Blaine and Renault becoming allies against the Germans.

The film appears to be a story about sacrificing personal interests for a greater good.    Lets look further.   The word Casablanca translates into English as White House.   Rick Blaine may be a metaphor for Franklin D. Roosevelt, who supposedly is pulled into war with the Nazis against his will.    It is interesting to note that Victor Laszlo and Ilsa Lund are usually dressed in white to associate them with good.   The least interesting and most forgettable character is Victor Laszlo.   Laszlo is handsome, articulate, intelligent, brave, and selfless.    Laszlo is the classical good guy with few flaws.   Who is this Victor Laszlo?   And what is the rest of the story?

The answer my good reader is Count Richard Nikolaus von Coudenhove-Kalergi.   Who?  Again I say, Count Richard Nikolaus von Coudenhove-Kalergi.   Never heard of him.   Then we need to go over some facts that will put things in perspective.   The Count of Coudenhove-Kalergi was born in Tokyo Japan in 1894.  His father was Heinrich von Coudenhove-Kalergi, who was an Austrian-Hungarian diplomat.   His mother was Mitsuko Aoyama a Japanese subject.   The Count was known in Japan as Aoyama Eijiro.    Count Coudenhove-Kalergi became a Czechoslovakian citizen in 1919 and he became a French citizen in 1939.

Coudenhove-Kalergi_1926In 1923 Count Coudenhove-Kalergi wrote a book entitled Pan-Europa which was the beginning of the Pan-Europa movement.   Count Coudenhove-Kalergi wanted to replace the old order with a new social democracy based on peace.    Count Coudenhove-Kalergi was introduced by his friend Baron Louis de Rothschild to Max Warburg, who financed the movement.  Americans, who later financed the movement, were Paul Warburg and Bernard Baruch.     Count Coudenhove-Kalergi began publishing a journal and writing more books to push the movement.   Count Coudenhove-Kalergi wanted the world divided into five regions: a United States of Europe, a Pan American Union, the British Common Wealth, the U.S.S.R. and a Pan Asian Union.

Ode to Joy was to be the official Anthem of Europe and English would be the official language.   The Pan-Europa movement began to gain support.   The masonic lodges in Europe got behind the movement.  It was supported by Archduke Otto von Habsburg, Albert Einstein, Thomas Mann and Sigmund Freud.    However, the Pan-Europa movement did meet resistance from rising powers Benito Mussolini and Adolf Hitler.   Hitler referred to Count Coudenhove-Kalergi as a “rootless, cosmopolitan, and elitist half-breed.”  When the Third Reich annexed Austria in 1938, Count Coudenhove-Kalergi fled to Czechoslovakia and then to France.     Eventually Coudenhove-Kalergi left France ahead of the Germans traveling through Switzerland and Portugal, before arriving in the United States shades of Casablanca.

With war raging through Europe, Coudenhove-Kalergi worked tirelessly in America for the Pan-Europa movement; gaining a certain measure of support from Winston Churchill, Allen Dulles, William “Wild Bill” Donovan and Franklin D. Roosevelt.   Coudenhove-Kalergi taught at New York University from 1942 until his return to France in 1945.    In 1945 President Harry S. Truman read an article written by Coudenhove-Kalergi in Collier’s Magazine.   Truman said that support of a Pan-European Union would be an American Policy.

Count Coudenhove-Kalergi was a devoted catholic, who wanted to use the Pan Europa movement to gain universal acceptance for the religions of Christianity, Judaism and Islam in Europe.  Coudenhove-Kalergi wrote in his book Practical Idealism  “The man of the future will be of mixed race.   Today’s races and classes will gradually disappear owing to the vanishing of space, time and prejudice.   The Eurasian-Negroid race of the future, similar in its appearance to the Ancient Egyptians, will replace the diversity of peoples with a diversity of individuals.”   In other words Count Coudenhove-Kalergi wanted to change the racial identity of the European people into a brown monoculture.

Count Richard Nikolaus von Coudenhove-Kalergi came into a world in which the old aristocracy, of which he was a part, had been deposed.   The Count worked for a stateless European socialist democracy ruled over by a new aristocracy.   An aristocracy that was not based on the sword as the old order, but one based on a moral superiority.   And what people meets the level of expectations of Count Coudenhove-Kalergi?   The answer is the Jews.

Again we go to Practical Idealism, “Instead of destroying European Jewry, Europe, against its own will, refined and educated this people into a future leader-nation through this artificial selection process.   No wonder that this people, that escaped Ghetto-Prison, developed into a spiritual nobility of Europe.   Therefore a gracious Providence provided Europe with a new race of nobility by the Grace of Spirit.   This happened at the moment when Europe’s feudal aristocracy became dilapidated, and thanks to Jewish emancipation.”

Well there you have it.  Do not take this writer’s words as truth, research it for yourself.   The new aristocracy of the new Europa takes its role very seriously and they are working feverishly to bring it to fruition.   Those who must not be named will maintain their culture and identity by staying aloof from the fray, while laboring to destroy the culture of the west to bring on their own ascendancy.     Was this the plan before the arrival of the Third Reich?    If it was, then America had to be maneuvered away from isolationism to foreign European interventionism to eliminate the obstacle to pan European unification.  The United States had to hold the Soviet Union at bay until the European Union could be established.  Hollywood has always been instrumental in moving the people of the United States in the direction that the new aristocracy wants us to go.

Victor Laszlo is Count Richard Nikolaus von Coudenhove-Kalergi and films such as Casablanca were used to pave the way to the present.  It was no accident.   In the last essay, this writer mentioned the planned conversion of Europa to Christianity by the Emperor Constantine.   Constantine’s plan would later be continued at the edge of the blade by Charlemagne and his Holy Roman Empire.   Thinking of today, I will misquote Casablanca and say, “Play it again Sam.”   Today’s European Union is following Count Coudenhove-Kalergi’s strategy.  Americans, do not be condescending to or ignore the plight of our European cousins because we are next.   It is about to get ugly, with the “usual suspects.”

“Managed Cultural Destruction- We Have Been Here Before”

It is this writer’s opinion that most introspective persons at times ponder the meaning of life and one’s place in the life stream.   Where did I come from?   Who am I?   Why am I here?   What will happen to me when I die?    In western civilization for approximately the last 1,400 years, one was required to unquestionably accept the answers supplied by the state sanctioned intermediaries of the divine.     Many of us, who are older, were taught the answers from a source such as the Westminster Catechism or the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Churchmen, who were inheritors of the feeble remnants of the once mighty Roman Empire, attempted to strengthen their power over the folk of Europa by declaring that the stories of their religion were factual, without error and they had the power to keep people from entering the kingdom of their non western Semitic demigod in the  afterlife.    The churchmen taught they could condemn heretics and non believers to hell; from which they had transformed the traditional western abode of the dead to a place of punishment and torment.

The originally Semitic cult of the Nazarene had been lurking about the Roman empire, where Jews were plentiful, for centuries.   The increasingly Roman flavor of the Semitic cult of the Nazarene was heavily influenced by the Roman citizen Saul of Tarsus.    Saul appears to have been knowledgeable of the various strains of Gnosticism, Greek Philosophy, western mystery cults such as Mithraism, Zoroastrianism, Cybele and Attis, Zoroastrianism,  Adonis, Osiris and Isis and the Eleusinian mysteries as well as his own ethnic Judaism.   Which in time would make the cult far removed from its Semitic origins.   It was Saul of Tarsus, who was the true creator of the Roman version of the cult of the Nazarene and developed it into something that the Jews would not recognize and often fear.

Rome was a multicultural, universalist empire in expansion, when the Nazarene cult began.  The Romans were very tolerant of foreign religions, they just asked that people give homage to the state gods of the empire to insure the continuing success of the state.   However the Nazarenes would not comply and they were considered by Romans to be disrespectful, disloyal, atheists.   At times the Nazarenes were repressed by various Roman emperors for their religious intolerance and especially for disloyalty to the state.

Over time the empire grew so large that it was divided into east and west with co-rulers by the emperor Diocletian in 285 C.E.   When Constantine was recognized as emperor, through his military conquests, he was the sole ruler in 324 C.E.   It appears that Constantine, whose mother was secretly a Nazarene, was not personally opposed to the tiny, unpopular religion; and for a time he continued honoring the state gods.   As emperor, Constantine recognized that the Nazarene religion provided him with an opportunity to consolidate his political power against potential rivals.   The Nazarene religion could also be used as a control mechanism for his diverse citizenry through the already well established system of bishops; which was dispersed throughout the empire.

In 313 C.E. Constantine issued the Edict of Milan and began returning previously confiscated property to the Nazarenes.   In 325 C.E. Constantine summoned the bishops to the Council of Nicaea to deal with disunity among the bishops, and the church of Rome began with Constantine as the “Thirteenth Apostle”.  Constantine began building churches and pushing for acceptance of the Nazarenes.   The population began to convert in greater numbers in response to imperial approval.    The imperial government began giving the Nazarenes preferential treatment over the majority pagans as part of a social engineering scheme that would turn the culture upside down in a short period of time.

Later in his reign, when the political timing was right, Constantine withdrew all financial support for the old temples that had supported Rome’s traditional culture for centuries and he began confiscating their wealth to finance his building programs.   Nazarene essays and letters  were collected by the bishops during the reign of Constantine and were compiled.   A few were selected and edited, the rest that did not fit the narrative were destroyed.   The Roman collection was joined together with selected Jewish scripture and declared factual and without error.

All the answers to the state of man were contained in the book.   Only the priestly class was allowed to consult the book; who would then provide the answers to the people.     There would be no questioning of the ecclesiastical authorities, no freedom of thought, all the correct answers would be provided.   When Constantine’s son Constatnius II eventually became emperor; he closed all of the Roman temples and imposed the death penalty for holding or attending any traditional religious sacrifices.   Later Emperor Theodosius I made Christianity the official Roman religion in 380 C.E.

The “one true way” now had the full might of the Roman Empire behind it.   Purges against traditional religions and cultures of Europa and else where would continue through the ages until the renaissance.   Ancient stories, which brought unity and meaning to ethnic Peoples, were mostly destroyed.    While the surviving stories were allowed to be told in such a way as to make the old ethnic cultures appear primitive; in an effort to ensure that future generations would not yearn for the past.  The void in the ethnic soul would be filled by the authority of the church, who controlled the condition of one’s soul in the next world.

Why is this important today you may ask?    The religion of the Nazarene, made the mistake of not teaching its stories as mythological tales and poetry, which would have had great power in and of themselves as when the stories were told in the western mystery religions.    But the “good news” had been taught for centuries as factual without the slightest error.

Theologians and historians, working in universities, discovered the truth about their religion.  Universities, which had been founded to train theologians, had to find a new mission and they became secular humanists.  The intellectuals of the church knew that their bedrock was on sand.  From the time of Constantine, it had been a religion based on stories stolen from older religions and repackaged.   It had been used as an agent of social control and change for political ends.   “The man behind the curtain” had been exposed.    Today the old leviathan is weakened in the west and new agents of social control have rushed in to fill the power vacuum; and they are just as persistent and dedicated to control as the church.

During the current “Wolf Age” many of the leaders of the Nazarene dominations are now educated non believers and personally believe in a “social gospel,” but will publicly parrot the tenants of their denomination in front of the less informed.   They continue on in order to further the goal of a human universalism with a single culture that will, in the end, be used to feed the corporate leviathan who is the true master of the domain today.    Jörmungand (YOUR-mun-gand) has circled middle earth.     The pews of Europa are empty as their former occupants are now humanist, whose new religions are environmentalism and self-indulgence.   The pews will soon be pulled out to make room for the newest imported foreign religion as Europa has lot her way.

The “greenies” or environmentalists loath the corporate serpent as it plunders the earth searching for gold, destroying Midgard in the process.   But the “greenies” and social justice warriors are cultural Marxists from an unnatural world; who are manipulated to bring about the destruction of the remnant of traditional European cultures to the benefit of the serpent.  Unlike the postmodern religion of environmentalism, the ethnic European religions are entwined in nature; including nature spirits and deities which are often interpreted as manifestations of nature herself.  The self-aware man does not see himself above nature, who needs his protection, but in symbiosis with nature.

It is not unusual for even a follower of the Nazarene, if given the opportunity, to skip the pew and take to nature to fill the void his soul.   To be whole in an artificial world, one must connect with the natural world to know who one truly is.    Consider the words of French historian Dominique Venner:

“All medieval literature whether it be chansons de geste or the Arthurian Romances invariably explore the theme of the forest: a perilous world, refuge of spirits and fairies, hermits and dissidents, but also the place where the tormented soul of the knight is purified.   I feel that very strongly.   To me, going into the forest is far more than just a physical need, it is a spiritual necessity.”1

Rootless European males and those of the European diaspora, unconnected from nature and their culture, are being feminized to make the transmission to the newest order less violent and more likely successful.   The traditional European family must be destroyed; therefore the media and educational orcs are hard at work.

Europa and the diaspora are being harried on all sides.   In the midst of this chaos, the wolf of Islam has broken its chains and is unleashing havoc upon the earth.   It will take warriors to break Fenrir’s jaws because the ravenous wolf only understands violence.   We at the beginning of  a new age of violence, the wolf age.   One need only look to the words of the Voluspa:

“an axe age, a sword age

shields are riven

a wind age, a wolf age

before the world goes headlong.

No man will have

   mercy on another”2

At this point one might be tempted to despair of the present and future.   But one should not.   The lot has been cast and the norns (fates) have woven the tapestry of our lives.   To quote a common Cliché, “it is what it is.” The wolf age is an opportunity for us to prove ourselves worthy to be remembered.    There is an awakening to the coming new age.  Writer and lecturer Jack Donovan has produced slogans appropriate for the wolf age- “Violence is Golden” and the get it on “Start the World.”   Mr. Donovan is inviting us to transform ourselves and embrace the change.

What should those who aspire to be warriors and fight for their culture and folk in the coming cycle of Ragnarök (Rag-na-rock) do?    Naturally one must train one’s body and be physically fit.   One must be competent in unarmed and armed combat.   To be balanced, one should winnow the writings of Homer, Marcus Aurelius, and other classical writers.   One must peruse the old poems of heroic literature, the sagas and the Eddas.    And one must contemplate death.    Yes death, because unlike new age interpretations of a warrior, a warrior is a death bringer- a life ender.   Such a way of life is hazardous; therefore, one should accept the certitude that his days are measured before his birth.   One must be ready to joyfully except his fate by singing his song of honor at his death, heralding his way into the next existence.  serveimageTI8IVWP5

For an aspiring warrior to compose his death song, he must determine through study where he came from, who he is now and what will become of him when he is embraced by the goddess that rules the next world.   It is the culture of the warrior that delineates the warrior from a soldier, for both are death dealers.    One deals death for the state and the other as part of his tribal culture; his nobility is ensconced in his actions in the face of danger and his descendancy from the tribal gods.

The warrior’s honor and hamingja (HAM-ing-ya) are related to the warrior’s family; who are in this world and the neither world.   Honor and hamingja (strength of self) go to the burial mound with the deceased to be claimed at a later time by a descendant.    In other words we are our ancestors and not just in a DNA sense.  This is why it is a European custom to name children after a beloved ancestor, to attract the ancestor’s hamingja and honor in the hope that it will attach itself to the new child and bring “luck;” which is not random selection.   Luck is intimately related to ones’ hamingja.

Therefore our ancestors are always with us and can be a wellspring of strength.   It has been a part of traditional European belief that warriors with a strong hamingja such as King Arthur or Holger Danske, will came back and defend their people when they are needed- through their descendants.   In other words to be born again.   Let one ponder the following words from the Havamal:

“Cattle die, | and kinsmen die,

 And so one dies one’s self;

But a noble name | will never die,

 If good renown one gets.

Cattle die, | and kinsmen die,

 And so one dies one’s self;

One thing now | that never dies,

 The fame of a dead man’s deeds.”3

One can see that by one’s accomplishments, one attains an aspect of immortality.    Traditionally one’s name could vibrate through this world and echo through eternity, affecting the position of one’s family in this world and the next.  Even thousands of years later, names such as: Achilles, Hector, Alexander, Spartacus, Hannibal, Arminius and Siegfried have great power to fascinate and inspire.   None were perfect; all were daring with a sense of purpose and place.   They transcended the ordinary.

As part of the preparation of composing a death song, one should spend time in the forest or similar natural environment and meditate on one’s transition to the next existence.   How one envisions the transition to the next abode is not so important.  As an example, this writer will condense and paraphrase from Viktor Rydberg’s Our Fathers’ Godsaga

Upon one’s death one passes simultaneously to Hel and the grave.   One’s actual ego moves to the underworld, but for a while one has an alter ego in the grave.  In the underworld, Urd (URTH-r) who is the dis (DEES-ir) of fate is also the dis of death.   Urd determines every human’s fortune, lifespan and even the hour of their death.   Urd is the ruler of the underworld where she is called Hel.   Urd jointly confers with her sisters Verdandi (VER-thand-i) and Skuld (SKULD).  Additionally humans have a female guardian spirit called a fylgja (FELG-ya) or hamingja, who are Urd’s servants.

When a child comes into the world, Urd appoints the child a fylgja, who rises out of the underworld, flies over the western horizon, and glides across the sea to her ward in Midgard.   The fylgja follows the child through life unseen, knows the child’s thoughts, whispers into his conscience, urges him on and warns him in his dreams.   Every day thousands of fylgjas float over the water to Midgard and everyday thousands return to prepare their wards’ dwelling in the kingdom of bliss.

A fylgja does not leave her charge except shortly before his death, and she will later rejoin him in the kingdom of bliss.    She will however abandon him if he becomes a nithing (NEETH-ing-r) and he will be a lost man.    There are norns of life who are the dises that choose mothers for children, who wait before the threshold of mortal life to be born into the world.   There are other norns who carry out Urd’s judgments of death and conduct dead souls to the underworld.   Foremost among those norns are the Valkyries.

When a battle occurs, the Valkyries appear on horseback, fully armed with spears they use to identify the warriors who Odin (O-thin) or Freyja has selected for their hall.    They convey the fallen to the underworld and from there to Bifrost to Asgard  To Midgard’s inhabitants that are not destined to die by the sword, Urd sends other servants whose form is dictated by the type of death.    Children have their own norns who are motherly and kind.   To those who die by disease come Leikn (LAYK-n) and beings from Niflhel (NIV-I-hehl), who resemble her.   Those that die from other sicknesses are carried away by the corresponding spirit of disease.

In the beginning of the journey, the dead all walk a common path.   The Hel-gate opens daily for legions of souls all destined for different fates.   All must pass the same way.   They come by foot and horse, accompanied by beautifully equipped Valkyries, by the gentle assistants of age, the kind of companions of children, and the blue-white Leikn, the somber spirit of disease.     They all gather outside the eastern Hel-gate.    When all who are expected on that day have come, the key Gilling (GIL-ing-r), turns in the lock and the gate groans on its hinges and opens wide for the dead to file in.

The path of the dead first winds westerly through deep and dark dales.   At one point, a mile wide thorny heath must be crossed, so it is best that the family of the deceased provide the dead with sturdy Hel shoes to protect their feet along the journey.   Everything such as clothes, weapons and jewelry remain in the grave, but everything in creation, including things made by man have an inner form and material that accompanies the dead to the underworld.

The procession of the dead reaches a river with rushing waters; whose eddies is full of sharp-edged iron.    Foot wide strips of wood float across the water and there is no bridge.   The strips remain steady under the feet of the merciful and convey them across the river, but the unmerciful cannot stand on the strips and will fall into the river forcing them to wade across in anguish.

On the other side of the river, light begins to shine and one is able to see green meadows through which the river called Gjoll (GYUHL) flows.  There is a gold covered bridge called Gjallarbru (GYAL-ar-broo) spanning Gjoll.   On the other side of Gjallarbru the path forks.   The path to the north leads to Mimir’s (MEE-mere)kingdom and the one to the south leads to Urd’s well.   The dead continue walking in complete silence to Urd’s well, where the judgement is to take place.   The tongues of the dead are cold and stiff, their steps cannot be heard, and even the steps of the horses of the dead cannot be heard.    The only sound is the resound beneath the hooves of the Valkyries’ horses as they cross the Gjallarbru.

When the dead arrive at the place of judgement, they sit on long rows of benches before the holy circle of judgement stones.   The deceased take their seats next to their fylgjas, who will be waiting for them.    The Aesir are the judges, with Odin in the high seat and the Aesir seated next to him.    The dead listen to the court and receive their sentences in silence.  Only those with the runes of speech are able to speak in their own defense.   Those without the runes of speech are defended by their fylgjas, who rarely have to speak; as their presence alone is a favorable witness that the dead were not guilty of some unforgivable act.  Outside the thing-stead, spirits of punishment await the condemned murders, oath breakers and abusers of the dead, ready to lead them to their doom in Nifelhel.

The dead should come well dressed to the place of judgement.   Warriors should bring their weapons and armor.    Women and children ought to bring ornaments they are fond of.   Images of the objects that relatives and friends placed in the grave mound be a testimony that the dead received the respect and devotion of their survivors.    The appearance of the dead, show the degree to which the living respect the law requiring reverence for the dead.   Those without a family to prepare the dead for judgement should be prepared for by strangers who should step forward.   Those who neglect the duties of the living toward the dead hasten the ruin of the world and aids evil against the gods.

The gods judge human error and weakness leniently; because, the gods have also erred.    The thing-goers should expect a favorable sentence from the gods, if they went through life honestly, honorably, helpful and without fear of death- if they had reverence for the gods and temples, for family duties and the dead.     Before they leave the thing-stead, whose who were declared worthy receive the “drink of strengths” from a golden aurochs horn engraved with a serpent, runes and images of herbs that grow in the meadows of the kingdom of bliss.

The “drink of strengths” is a liquid from the three wells that maintain Yggdrasil (EG-dras-il) and those that drink for the horn will feel the warmth of life, their tongues will loosen, they will gain strength and life force, they will forget their sorrows, but remember their beloved memories without remorse or pain.    Those who have had the judgement of bliss leave the thing-stead accompanied by their fylgja on a joyous path through beautiful fields of flowers to a home that she has prepared for them in the green world of the gods.   There they visit friends and relatives that have gone before them.    After the warriors have finished visiting their kith and kin, they continue their journey to Asgard (AHS-garth-r), where they will be welcomed by their table companions in Valholl.   Princes and heroes, who have died of disease, will also travel to Asgard; while those who have been condemned are escorted to Niflhel, where their sentence is carried out.4

Viktor Rydberg lived from 1828 to 1895 and is regarded as Sweden’s leading Romantic Poet.    This is fitting for Odin is a god of inspiration and poetry.   Odin’s poet Bragi would have been waiting with a horn of mead for Rydberg, when he arrived at the All-father’s table with a smile and rhyme.    One should be inspired by Rydberg’s poetry and become a warrior poet, like the great Icelandic warrior Egill Skallagrímsson.    Ethnic European religions were not religions of the book, but of the song, the heroic epic, the field and the forest.   They were religions of ancestor and of nature- its majestic tragedy and triumph.  An example of a death song that one should peruse would be that of Ragnar Lodbrok´s Death Song translated by Ben Waggoner and widely available on the internet.

One of this writer’s favorite bands is the Norwegian band Wardruna founded by Einar “Kvitrafn” Selvik in 2003.   Kvitrafn’s project rejected modern instruments and themes; returning to a time of pre-Christian Scandinavian spirituality.  One of the more interesting songs for this writer’s purpose is from the album Runaljod- Yggdrasil, the song is Helvegen (Path to Hel).   Which much like Rydberg’s work paints a picture of the transition to the next existence. The hauntingly beautiful lyrics to Helvegen are translated into English are as follows:

           “The path to Hel

Who shall sing me, Into deathsleep sing me, When I on the path to Hel go, And this track I tread Is cold, so cold, so cold.

I sought the songs, I sent the songs. Then the deepest well Gave me tears so harsh From the Slain-father’s pledge.

I know everything, Odin, To whom you gave your eye.

Who shall sing me, Into deathsleep sing me, Whence I on the path to Hel go, And this track I tread Is cold, so cold, so cold.

Early or in the day’s end, The raven still knows if I fall.

Once you stand at the gate to Hel And when you have to tear free, I shall follow you Over Gjallarbrú with my song.

You will be free from the bonds that bind you, You are free from the bonds that bound you!

“Cattle die, Friends die, So, too, must you die. Though one thing Never dies; The fair fame one has earned.

Cattle die, Friends die, So, too, must you die. I know one, That never dies; Judgement of a dead man’s life.”

One of the most well-known European death songs is described by Ahmad Ibn Fadlan in his work Ibn Fadlan and the Russiyyah in which Fadlan describes witnessing the death song of a Viking slave girl at the funeral of her lord, just before she follows him into the afterlife.  A scene which was later made famous in the film The 13th Warrior:   The lyrics of the actual song recorded by Fadlan are as follows:

‘Behold, I see my father and my mother.’

‘Behold, I see all of my dead kindred, seated.’

‘Behold, I see my master, seated in Paradise.

Paradise is beautiful and verdant.

He is accompanied by his men and his maleslaves.

He summons me, so bring me to him.’”

In the song the girl is declaring that she could see her family and master awaiting her in the other word and they were calling her to them.    She calls out boldly for the angel of death to pierce the veil between the worlds for her, so she could go home.   If a slave girl looks death in the face and sings with courage, should we cower in fear and still call ourselves freemen.   Let us boldly move forward and embrace the opportunities presented by the wolf age to prove ourselves worthy to be remembered.  We know where we come from, we know the line of our people.   We know who we are, we are trufolk.   We know what we need to do.   Let us sing our song loudly as we redden our swords for soon we shall soon cross the resounding bridge together, drink from the golden horn and abide with our kinsmen and the gods.

Addendum: I wrote this essay before I started this blog and filed it away. I have revived it and made some modifications for publication. I want to state that I am not a historian, amateur or otherwise; but history is important as the past is the basis for our present situation. Everyone has their own interpretations of history based on their own life experiences.

Western civilization, where ever it is found, is under attack and not randomly. The current situation has the appearance of a controlled destruction of western culture and Europa, who is the heart of our culture. Our cultures will be fundamentally changed. This has been planned for a long time and I will briefly cover that in a later post.

The use of governmental policies to fundamentally change a culture has been done successfully before, as will be pointed out in the following essay. People today often feel empty, as if they are disconnected. This is natural because they are disconnected from their true roots. This blog post may upset some as anti-Christian. I am not against Christians. My immediate ancestors and family are Christian. My neighbors and some of my friends are Christian.

As time goes on, people out necessity will form alliances or tribes for protection and survival. Your tribe may contain folk who are Christian out expediency. As heathens, we must become someone who our people, regardless of religion, look to for direction, answers and leadership.I am opposed to fraud and against the deception of the folk for social control. When people discover the truth about a religion that dictates that it must be accepted as true, factual and without error completely on faith without facts; they might reject that religion when the truth becomes apparent. Unanchored by religion or traditional culture, the people become rootless. Once rootless they may look for meaning in other places.

Those places might be: “me first behavior,” cultural appropriation from other cultures (they will not lie to me), antisocial behaviors (I will disregard accepted culture), extreme environmentalism (people are the problem), social justice (the culture is wrong), humanism (the individual comes before the culture) or Islam (they have no regard for western culture). They may overreact and tirelessly work against the culture that birthed them; which in their subconscious mind betrayed them.

If someone chooses to follow the foreign Semitic demigod after examining the facts; I can live with that. After all it is a combination of and repackaging of the old mystery religions and Neo-Platonist philosophy under a central control. Its rites are not Semitic. My problem with the Nazarene/Galilean religion has been its traditional intolerance of all ethnic religions, and cultures, except to a lesser degree Judaism.

Regardless of what some may say, the leader of western Christendom is Pope Francis. The current Pope is more tolerant than previous Popes and appears to have embraced, humanism, environmentalism, Islam and a one world government with a global monoculture. What are the Pope’s actions saying about what he really believes about his religion? What does this say about the current state of Christendom to resist in the face of the soldiers of Allah? And from a secular perspective, will the next political election cycle turn this around in the United States? I do not think we will be able to vote our way out of this. Tribe up!

This writer is raising his mead horn and giving a hearty “Hail!” to Chris Jacheo of Tier One Viking Radio.   Mr. Jacheo is a former Army infantryman- with combat deployments, a protection specialist, an athlete, and an American Heathen.   Mr. Jacheo owns a clothing company which sells quality heathen clothing with a military slant called Tier One Viking Wear.    This writer can recommend Tier One Viking Wear as he has purchased several of Mr. Jacheo’s items and wears them on a regular basis.    Mr. Jacheo’s radio show is an educational, entertaining, no nonsense, salty, approach to American Heathenism that reflects Mr. Jacheo’s military background.    The greatest compliment this writer can bestow is to say, “If I was in a dark alley with my back against the wall with several hostiles about to hand me my posterior, I would want Chris Jacheo to be the Q.R. F.”

Be Prepared- Estote Parati

Most of us would agree that we live in interesting times.   Western civilization is in decay and attacked from forces without and even worse; she is attacked by those from within that should be her staunchest defenders.   This is obvious to all.   It is not the apocalypse or end of all time; but a precursor to the Ragnarök (twilight of the Gods) or end of a cycle.    What the next cycle will be like may well depend on the things that we do now.     In this writer’s opinion, we are in the beginning of the Wolf-Age.    The Wolf-Age is described in the poem “Völuspá”.

45. Brothers may fight
and fell each other,
may sisters’ sons
kinship stain;
hard is in the home,
whoredom severe;
axe-age, sword-age,
shields cloven,
wind-age, wolf-age,
ere the world falls;
no men will
each other spare.

The question is, “What should we do?”   The answer is: Allzeit bereit! Ole valmis!  Toujours Prêt!  Ávallt viðbúinn! Vær Beredt!  Gata Oricând, Czuwaj! or Var redo!   In any language the motto of the Boy Scouts is- Be Prepared!   The Boy Scouts was created around 1908 by Lieutenant General, The Right Honourable, The Lord Baden-Powell of the British Army.   While serving in Africa, Lord Baden-Powell took a strong interest in field-craft, tracking and self-reliance, which he felt were deficits in the British Army at the time.    This writer is uncertain why Lord Baden-Powell did not model the Boy Scouts after ethnic English Robin Hood and his Merry Men in Sherwood Forest.    Possibly this was done to avoid conflicts between those of Saxon or Norman descent or maybe Lord Baden-Powell was influenced by American co-founder Fredrick Russell Burnham in his decision.

Fredrick Russell Burnham was born on a Lakota Sioux Reservation, and served as Chief of Scouts for the British Army in Africa.    For whatever reason, the Native American stereotype was adopted as the model for the Boy Scouts.   A choice that is today attacked by social justice warriors as a cultural appropriation by white males; hind sight is twenty –twenty isn’t it?    In 1908 Lord Baden-Powell published “Scouting for Boys” in which Lord Baden-Powell stated, “The scout motto is: BE PREPARED which means you are always in a state of readiness in mind and body to do your duty.”    The importance of duty was recognized by General Robert E. Lee when he penned to George Washington Custis Lee, “Duty is the most sublime word in our language.  Do your duty in all things.   You can not do more.   You should never wish to do less”.   General Lee sacrificed an assured future of fame and power to honor his obligations to his family, folk and state; which he believed was his duty.

Marine Corps

United States Marine Corps General James Mattis, who was known by his colleagues as an intellectual, took a copy of Marcus Aurelius“The Meditations” with him on each deployment.    General Mattis was called “The Warrior Monk” because he lived his life devoted to study and war, much like the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius whose words Mattis studied.    General Mattis is quoted as saying, “Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.”    To the average person the statement might seem shocking.   However in this writer’s opinion the general’s advice should be taken to heart by anyone who even remotely thinks of themselves as a warrior or protector.    The caveat is that one should treat everyone the way that one would like to be treated; until the situation dictates that one should react with decisive violence.

Therefore one should plan for a possible violent encounter at all times, in all situations and never be caught unawares.    This is not done out of paranoia, but out of a “way of doing” which promotes an inner personal freedom.   A freedom to not be controlled by fear.  Today we live in a society that promotes fear among the plebian class; which enhances control over that unprotected class who cower before the ruling elites or run to them for protection from barbarians at the gates.   Jack Donovan wrote an essay entitled “All they have is fear” which many will find enlightening if they will take the time to read it.

Epictetus (whom Marcus Aurelius studied) in his Discourses stated, “For caution seems to be in a manner contrary to confidence … a paradox … But if things independent to the will Epictetusand not in our power are nothing to us, with respect to these we must employ confidence; and thus we shall be both cautious and confident, and indeed confident because of our caution.   For by employing caution toward things which are really bad, it will result that we shall have confidence with respect to things which are not so”.

The Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius was a stoic philosopher, who spent most of his life at war.   The Meditations was written as a personal reflection while in the field during his campaigns in Gaul.   “The Meditations” was not written to be a manual on stoicism, but it is.  The work was never written to be a best seller, but it should be widely read (a sad commentary on the current state of a western education).   “The Meditations” was also reported to have been carried on campaign by one of this writer’s favorite Roman Emperors, Julian the Apostate when Julian soldiered in Gaul.   Julian the Apostate was the second stoic philosopher to became a Roman emperor and the last pagan emperor of the Roman Empire.   Julian was loved by his legions from Gaul, for his daring victories and sharing hardships in the field with his soldiers emulating the emperor Hadrian.   Julian was hated by the “Galileans” who rejoiced at his death in battle against the Persians.   Julian’s essays, promoting a return to traditional religion and philosophy, were ordered burned after his death.  Only fragments of his essays criticizing the “Galileans,” which were quoted by his antagonists, have survived.   In this writer’s opinion, Julian was one of the Empire’s better emperors. Julian

In “The Meditations” Marcus Aurelius wrote, “Do not despise death, make friends with it, it is Nature’s will and by willing what nature wills we are at peace and harmony with her”.    It is not fear that prompts one to have a plan to kill everyone one meets, but an adherence to duty; a duty to defend one’s self, family, folk, tribe and liege (one whom an oath has been taken to defend).    However, having a plan or a weapon is not enough, because if one is not fit enough to execute the plan or skilled enough with the weapon, the weapon is merely a talisman.    The lynch pin to success is correct, consistent, and germane training.   One’s age or infirmity is not an excuse to fail to train; our duty to kith and kin requires it.    One may not be able to defeat a younger, stronger or more skilled adversary; but one has a duty to defend kith and kin regardless of the outcome.     Epictetus said, “death is not evil, but a shameful death.”    All of us should do our duty to overcome fear and increase our hamingja (strength of soul energy/related to our honor, sometimes referred to as luck) by acts of courage.    We have a duty to be ready.   In the Hávamál we find:

1. Within the gates | ere a man shall go,
(Full warily let him watch,)
Full long let him look about him;
For little he knows | where a foe may lurk,
And sit in the seats within.

38. Away from his arms | in the open field
A man should fare not a foot;
For never he knows | when the need for a spear
Shall arise on the distant road.

site_logoTru-folk (true to our faith, folk and family) have an obligation to defend their kith, kin, tribe and liege.   Former United States Army Ranger Stephen A. McNallen wrote in his book “Asatru- a Native European Spirituality” “Asatruar, if they are true to their faith, constantly seek self-improvement.   This is especially so when it comes to the heroic virtues … courage, honor, loyalty to one’s faith and one’s ancestors, prowess in battle, sharpness of wit, dedication to kin.”

Inspiration for the Day

“Unpopularity earned by doing what is right is not unpopularity at all, but glory.” Marcus Cicero

The question is “what is right?”    For some the answer would be, “what does the holy book or guru say is right?”    Others such as myself ask the question, “Is it right or good for my family, my folk, and my hamingja to do this?”    Will it improve the position of my family and folk in this life and the next.   Our actions echo through eternity affecting our position in the next life.    Western civilization is currently obsessed with a shallow “pop” and guilt ridden  “politically correct” culture.

Rejecting the “politically correct” culture could have very real consequences, such as losing a job or even being jailed for speaking the truth.    But again, right action is doing what is best in the long-term for your family, your folk and even that antiquated concept of nation.   “Seek Glory!”  Resist the temptation of shallow popularity; do what you have to do now to ensure the future of your folk!
